The Folklore Roundtable invites you to join us for a conversation with Dr. Rachel Gonzalez Martin on Monday April 5th about her book “Quinceañera Style: Social Belonging and Latinx Consumer Identities”, winner of the 2020 Emily Toth Best Book award in Women's Studies and Popular Culture. The book is a dynamic study of social negotiation and consumerism in the coming-of-age quinceañera celebration and the impact of normalizing spectacles of luxury.
