Folklore Program Faculty Debra Lattanzi Shutika Elected to American Folklore Society Fellow

Congratulations to Folklore Program faculty member, Dr. Debra Lattanzi Shutika for becoming a Fellow of the American Folklore Society! 

 

The Fellows of the American Folklore Society is an honorary body of folklorists, whose election to the Fellows signifies their outstanding contributions to the field. Members of the Fellows have produced significant scholarly productions and have provided meritorious service to the Society and the discipline of folklore studies. In addition to its honorary function, the Fellows sponsor activities to advance folklore studies, including mentoring programs for students, plenary sessions at the annual meeting, and special awards. 

 

Dr. Lattanzi Shutika, who has been teaching and conducting research on folklore for over two decades, is a long-term member of the American Folklore Society. She has made invaluable contribution to both the Folklore Program at George Mason University and the American Folklore Society. She is a Fulbright Fellowship recipient and has led the summer field school and other important programs.
